hen the late Ralph C. Waterhouse wound up a successful career in the advertising specialty business he opened his first PennySaver with the belief that his background of helping business people with their promotions could be readily applied to their print advertising. His "Service" philosophy led to his role as publisher of one of the outstanding PennySaver groups in the country.
The East Aurora PennySaver was the first PennySaver opened up by RW Publications and was dated February 1, 1961.
The first issue was only 24 half-tab pages and was mailed to 6,000 homes. In twelve months the merchants from the neighboring town of Orchard Park urged him to open a PennySaver there and the same went on in nearby towns until we now operate five PennySavers in contiguous markets and distribute more than 64,000 PennySavers every Sunday using our own adult carriers.
RW Publications continues to flourish today because of its "Service" philosopy instituted by Ralph Waterhouse, service to our advertisers, our readers and the communities we serve. |
